"My project specifically involves characterizing the krox20/egr2b mutant, which causes Schwann cells to be halted at the promyelinating stage. This mutation was specifically chosen to learn about the need for Schwann cells during late development. Through characterizing the effects this mutation has on perineurial glia, it will allow us to develop a better understanding of when perineurial glia need Schwann cells and if it is a sustained requirement or only necessary at certain time points during nerve assembly."
